Booking a dog field: your questions

The things people ask us most, answered plainly.

What happens if the weather is bad or the field floods?
British fields get wet. If a field owner has to close for flooding, ice, high winds or storm damage, they cancel the booking from their dashboard and you're refunded in full automatically — the refund goes back to the card you paid with, usually within 5–10 working days. If it's simply raining, the field stays open and the owner's own cancellation policy applies, so check it on the listing before you book.
Can I cancel and get my money back?
Yes, within the cancellation window shown on the field's listing — each owner sets their own, and the window is displayed before you pay and repeated on your booking confirmation. Cancel from My bookings; eligible refunds are issued to your original payment method. Cancellations by the field owner are always refunded in full.
How do I get into the field?
Access instructions and any gate code are released automatically before your session — by default 60 minutes ahead — and are private to your booking. You'll find them on your booking page and in your confirmation email.
How many dogs can I bring?
Every field sets its own limit, and you choose the number of dogs when you book. The limit is shown on the listing. Bringing more dogs than your booking allows breaches the owner's terms and may end the session.
Is the field escape-proof?
We never claim that. Fields differ, so we publish the objective details instead — fence height and type, gates, hazards, neighbouring land and terrain — so you can judge whether a field suits your dog. If you have a reactive dog or a determined escaper, filter by fencing height and read the fencing notes carefully.
Will I share the field with anyone else?
No. RoamDog bookings are private, solo-hire sessions: the field is yours for the slot you book, with a changeover gap between bookings where the owner has set one.
Who am I actually buying from?
The field owner. Fields are owned and run by independent UK businesses; RoamDog provides the booking platform and collects payment on their behalf. Their terms and cancellation policy apply to your visit — see our terms, waiver and owner agreement.
